Christine Szustaczek has worked with numerous colleges and universities in Ontario for over 15 years as a communications and fundraising professional.  She is currently the Director of Corporate Communications and External Relations at Sheridan where she oversees the College’s internal and external communications strategy and works to advance the institution’s profile and reputation in the communities it serves.   Christine continually strives to create communications that help to strengthen the relationship between an organization and its diverse publics.  She obtained her Master of Communications Management degree at McMaster University and holds an Honours BA in International Relations from the University of Toronto.

Amanda Pike
Director of Organizational and People Development at Sheridan College

Amanda Pike has worked in the field of learning and organizational development for over 20 years.  She has spent her career in the public sector including hospitals, community health care, government and higher education.  She is currently the Director of the Centre for Organizational & People Development at Sheridan where she oversees the college's learning and leadership development, change and transition consulting, and employee engagement programs.

Amanda has guest lectured at the University of Western Ontario, Humber College, Federated Press, The Canadian Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Canadian Society for Training and Development.

Amanda obtained her Master of Education degree from Brock University, an Honours BA in Political Science from the University of Guelph, and is nearing completion of her Master of Science in Organizational Development & Leadership from St. Joseph's University in the United States.

At a time when employee engagement scores are plummeting and when individuals are increasingly choosing to support brands that reflect their values, how can an organization leverage its corporate character to inspire its people to contribute to its long term success?  In this session, we'll examine how PR and HR can form the institutional tag team needed to unearth and unleash institutional values, enhance and reinforce levels of engagement through rewards and recognition, and support people's efforts to share an institution's stories with their personal networks.
